Recognize symbolism in Beijing opera such as colors in make-up and costumery. Recognize and overcome stereotypes of Asians and Asian Americans in performing arts and media. Design and create their own masks using the symbolism evident in Beijing Opera masks. Gain experience handling art materials such as paint and paintbrushes.
