Chinese New Year

Capstone Abstract:

On the night of February 8, I, together with another two Chinese teachers in the school district, held the Chinese New Year Celebration at Buxton Center Elementary School.
There were different activities in the celebration. In the crafts section, kids made piggy lanterns and piggy pencil holders, and tried paper cutting. In the culture section, people learned to use chopsticks, wrote with calligraphy brushes and colored Lunar New Year pictures. We also set up two tables to play ping pong. Kids loved that. My students sang Happy New Year in Chinese on the stage, without looking at the lyrics. I was so proud. Most importantly, we provided dumplings.
